The process of using a layer mask is making the layer mask and then using the black paint brush to take out parts of a picture that you don't want to be seen in your image.

 As the designer you can use principles of design to help compose a page by using them to arrange structural elements for a composition.

Principles of design:

 Repetition: a aspect of the design repeated throughout the piece

Proportion/scale: the size of object used in the design

Balance: the placing of the elements on a design

Emphasis: the main idea of a design to be focused on

Unity: the final design with the use of the elements of design

Variety: the different objects or elements in a design to make it diverse

Rhythm: continually using a movement created with the space within the design

Contrast: two different elements working together within a design

The elements that were mostly used in this piece are shape and texture.
