The objective of assignment #1 was to choose 3 objects to recreate in illustrator. We were just beginning to use the pen tool so in this assignment that is the only thing we could use to try to recreate the objects.
The objective of assignment #2 was to trace over textured designs using the pen tool. This assignment helped me to get more used to using the pen tool and to discover different ways to use it. My work using the pen tool displays different types of textures and also different uses of value within the textures. In the bottom 3 squares is where our use of value was able to extended using grays along with black and white.
The objective of assignment #3 was to create a color wheel using colors we made using CMYK. In this assignment I choose to use raindrops and suns because they look pretty together.
The objective of assignment #4 was to use monochromatic, analogous, complementary, and split-complementary color schemes in a picture. In the assignment I used a picture of myself and I chose how to use the color schemes so that I could make it my own.
The objective of assignment #5 was to use photo mosaic in a picture we chose. In the assignment i used a puppy as the big picture and paw prints as the little picture because I think it is very cute.
The objective of assignment #6 was to create a picture like the ones used in the book, If I Crossed the Road. In this assignment I chose to make the scene at the beach because everyone love the beach and it is a fun scene to create. In the picture i used the principles of design proportion and unity. The picture uses proportion because not everything in the image is the size it would be normally and the unity used in the picture shows that i made bigger objects out of many smaller objects.
The objective of assignment #7 was to chose a famous group of people and photo shop a picture of yourself into that picture. For my picture I choose to add a picture of myself to the group Lady Antebellum. For each of the pictures i created layer masks so that the two picture could be combined into one.
The objective of assignment #8 was to chose a picture from the internet and then recreate it on another layer using a word that describes the picture. I choose to use to recreate a butterfly and I also used the word butterfly. I like my design because it is very similar to the actual picture but it is black and white and made out of words instead. Next time I did this assignment I would want to use colored words to make the picture stand out even more.
The objective of assignment #9 was to use 1 upper case letter, 1 lower case latter, and 1 number in each box and create patterns and use black and white to make the characters stand out. This assignment also helped me learn how to use the idea of sending objects to the back and front of the picture.
The objective of assignment #11 was to choose a paper background, and take a photo and choose lyrics or a poem that relates to your picture and mix them all together. I chose to take a photo of my brothers cross necklace because it related to my song, Forever Reign, and this is a topic that I am passionate about so I enjoyed doing this assignment.
The objective of assignment #12 was to take a picture of each letter of the alphabet using natural objects and not just making a letter and then photographing it. I took photos of mostly household items and some things found in nature. I chose to make my final alphabet black and white because i think it brings out the letters more.
The objective of assignment #13 was to split into groups of 3 and each person was to get a part of the body and then we combined them together to make a exquisite corpse. Each of the sections has a different background and the bodies are supposed to look like they don't go together because it makes the picture more fun and interesting.
The objective of assignment #14 was to choose a career that involves the use of graphic design and create a page about that career. The career I chose was package deign so I used a box and a bottle to create designs on to show examples of package designs.
The objective of assignment #15 was to create a illuminated manuscript by using only brushes and type. I chose to use the song Invisible by Taylor Swift for the lyrics in my assignment and I chose the brushes and colors by how they worked with each other and how it made the final design look.
The objective of assignment #16 was to create a timeline with the information we have been learning about the history of type. I made a timeline using different colored rectangles so that attention would be drawn to the words. I also added a picture of everything that is on the timeline to give a example of how the machines or alphabets looked.
